La Alcapurria Quemá is an eatery in Santurce’s picturesque Farmers’ Market. According to legend, they sell the best alcapurrias (plantain dough filled with meat or seafood and fried) of Puerto Rico. This family business was passed on to younger hands that bet on the value of good design. The challenge here was to create an identity for a “chinchorro de barrio” with a contemporary touch, but without losing its humble spirit, as this is a place where you can eat food a Puerto Rican grandmother would cook for you. No wonder they challenge every customer to visit with their grandma.
