Green Mile is a cannabis dispensary rooted on the concept of wellness as an accessible and achievable destination. As cannabis branding experts, we had the opportunity to utilize all of our offices’ talents by designing the dispensary’s voice, brand and interior architecture. We created the concept of “the road to wellness” as a central starting point, and from there created a brand that evokes mindfulness, earthiness, inspiration and holistic wellbeing. Hiking, camping, and other nature activities inspired the brand image and was translated onto the space.


We wanted to make the space feel cozy, much like being around a campfire after a long hike, which is why we used earthy color palette and materials. Botanical illustrations, including a detailed bud, were designed to both decorate the space and serve as educational tools when new patients have questions about the effects of cannabis and consumption methods. Icons resembling an old-fashioned trail map were used as wayfinding elements on the signage created for the space.

Because of strict regulations in the cannabis industry, designing dispensary interiors is always a challenge. We divided the ample space into different sections, each serving a specific purpose in the buying process without losing the image of wellness the brand conveys. This includes Information Islands for budtenders to educate new patients before buying in a private and comfortable space, Merch Jungles, for showcasing products and branded merchandise, a Budtenders back-of-house and point-of-sale, and a reception and waiting area. Functional furniture and wall fixtures in the shape of the cannabis chemical composition was designed to showcase products and branded merchandise.
